A well established, premium cabinet manufacturer serving the vibrant lower mainland market is expanding production to meet demand from across BC and requires a Cabinet Production/Assembly/Edgebander Technician.

Centrally located in the lower mainland, this fully equipped cabinet production facility is well positioned for growth in 2021. Many homeowners have decided to upgrade their home environment to suit their current focus on home based activities and remote work. This has resulted in strong demand for locally made high quality kitchens. As a result we are looking for a qualified and experienced Cabinet Production/Assembly/Edgebander Technician that can join a team of proven performers to ensure that all production goals are met reliably, safely and efficiently

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verification of materials selection and setup of machine centres to job specification.
  • Operating machine centres including edgebander, to produce components for use in downstream assemblies.
  • Partial or complete assembly of components into finished cabinets.
  • Assisting other staff members in a variety of production roles as required. 

 Qualifications:

  • Must have previous experience in a cabinet manufacturing or millwork operation
  • This position requires intermediate level cabinet making skills focusing on component production with some assembly of cabinets where required.
  • Recent experience using a high volume edgebander such as Brandt, Homag, SCM or similar, along with an ability to learn and use advanced edgebanding techniques to produce premium quality components suitable for high end custom cabinet production.
  • You must be comfortable working with a variety of standard materials including solid wood, plywood and factory supplied laminates.
  • You will have experience working with material handling equipment to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials and product to and from machines and work areas.
  • Proven ability to work with shop drawings, cut lists, specifications, machine settings and quality control requirements to ensure that all components and assemblies are produced correctly with minimal waste.
  • You will be familiar with standard cabinet/millwork production standards.
  • A proven track record for reliability and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a cooperative attitude that supports effectiveness of the production team.
  • Completion of an apprentice program or post-secondary education in joinery is an asset.
